Mankind has lived in fear and awe of technology for years. Skeptics are always trying to avoid it and believers are leaning into it as it continues to thrive.

Studies show that the tech industry is worth approximately 1.3 trillion dollars. Experts believe that this value will increase exponentially — and unlike many other industries, tech is ever-changing and very competitive globally.

We’ve all seen the Android Vs. Apple memes. If you haven’t, you probably aren’t tech-savvy in any way… and that’s (almost) fine!

It’s never too late to learn something new.

If sci-fi movies are any indication of the future, Star Wars, The Terminator, and iRobot suggest that tech will rule the world. However, Silicon Valley says differently.

Instead of bringing ideas into the real world, many are focused on creating alternate universes to coexist in.

If the last sentence seems far-fetched, consider VR headsets, Roblox, and Fortnite. These are all examples of alternate or digital spaces that we co-exist in.

Just as the universe is a collection of planets, the Metaverse is the broad category used to house these digital realities.

Digital realities that may someday change everything.

The following reasons explain why:

The Metaverse could replace physical contact

Studies show that children spend half as much time outside as their parents did. While Covid-19 may be a contributing factor, this study was conducted before the pandemic hit.

All the virus did was compound the issue.

Covid-19 has changed the way we interact with each other. Despite things presumably going back to normal, it’s clear that nothing will ever be the same.

So it shouldn’t come as a surprise if the metaverse becomes our go-to for human interaction. Our children are already halfway there.

Metaverse business is booming

Cryptocurrency and NFTs are the currency and high-value assets of the metaverse.

Economic experts predict that cryptos may soon replace gold, and Bitcoin is already being dubbed ‘Digital Gold’.

NFTs are already being used to buy and sell digital assets like art and music, and the online marketplace caters to 90% of consumers globally.

A shift is coming, but from the looks of things, it may already be here.

The Metaverse is full of career opportunities

Wherever business is booming, staffing is needed. These business ventures won’t grow without the input of human resources.

The U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that Information Security Analysts make over $100,000 on average.

Additionally, the bureau projects that between 2020–2030, there will be a 33% increase in Information Security Analyst employment.

This means that people with a background in information technology will be in demand.

Will you be counted among them?

Reports reveal that the tech world has changed the trajectory of many lives. Ryan Quick signed up for Theology at Yale and has now become a Veteran at Silicon Valley.

Will the Metaverse bring you fulfillment, too?

No one knows when the digital shift is going to happen, but everyone knows that it will happen. Hopefully, this information provides food for thought.
