Despite the roll-out of the vaccine, Covid-19 is still a threat to our health. Governments everywhere have been monitoring the situation and are slowly re-opening their borders to international travel.

For countries that once thrived on tourism, re-opening is their main priority. As such, they are taking every measure they can to get tourists in and out of their airports as safely as possible.

People are anxious to be out and about again but experts believe that no one should move a muscle unless they are vaccinated.

While some are eager to have the vaccine, others are skeptical. They believe that the vaccine can’t be trusted and are waiting to see how people react before taking it themselves.

Regardless of what you believe, the following tips will ensure that you stay safe as you travel.

Quarantine before you book your flight

Travel experts recommend that people self-quarantine before traveling. This is to ensure that you don’t become a carrier.

The time it takes for a person to develop symptoms is two weeks and if you’re in a foreign country when that happens, it means that you probably exposed the people that were on the plane with you.

That makes contact tracing a nightmare! So to avoid the scare, ensure you do your due diligence.

Get tested as often as you can

As new information is disseminated to the public, the likelihood of asymptomatic infection has become a reality.

The only definitive way to know if you have the virus is to get tested. You might be one of those people who are asymptomatic carriers, so getting tested before you leave, while on vacation, and after you return is imperative.

Choose destinations that support social distancing

Choosing the right destination is vital in helping you to stay safe. The worst thing you could do is book an all-inclusive hotel. They are sure to be crowded with people and won’t have adequate measures in place to promote social distancing.

You need accommodation that allows you to enjoy all the amenities without putting your health at risk.

One that is highly recommended is a Big 5 Private Game Reserve. They offer a unique combination of luxury and adventure at affordable prices.

Apart from following these tips, the one thing that you must have is patience. Everything is going to take longer to happen because companies are still trying to maximize resources without putting people’s lives at risk.

If you can do that, then you’re sure to have fun this summer!
