Does Your Roof Repairman Really Know What He’s Doing? These 3 Questions Will Help You Figure Him Out
Has your roofing been done well? I know it seems like a pretty vague question but — is your roofing done right? A badly done roof is not easy to detect — you’d have to be at least 10 feet tall to notice anything anyway!
Bad roofing becomes evident at the worst times- in the middle of a storm or hurricane! And then is not the time to have to deal with it. What this means is that roof repairmen around the country are doing jobs, getting paid in full but are producing sub-standard work!
From a consumer point of view, that is highly unacceptable!
How can you know for sure if your roofing has been done right? And how can you know if the roofer you have scheduled to come by this week knows what he’s doing?
The following three questions are sure to help:
- How long have you been in roof repairing?
Experience says a lot about a professional. It is highly unlikely that a repairman that has only been in the business for a few months knows how to install a roof properly. It is not impossible, but it is highly unlikely.
- Are you qualified in engineering or construction?
I know there may be some people that disagree with this one. You probably know of an unqualified repairman that is just as knowledgeable as a certified one but you need to understand that a certified engineer has a reputation to uphold.
Word spreads rapidly when it comes to this kind of business so the more qualified the person is, the more their reputation and certification are at stake. Their certification can likely be revoked by the city of Houston if their quality of work is not up to standard.
- Do you offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee?
Repairmen who are confident in their ability find no issue in offering a satisfaction guarantee. They are sure that the work they do is of the highest standard so that if there happens to be an issue, they will take full responsibility for making things right.
Your roofer should be able to offer you this. If they can’t then that’s an indication that they might not know what they’re about.
A high-quality roofing and construction service should provide the same peace of mind that the American military does. A veteran-led roofing and construction company might be the best way to go!
Ask these questions and you’ll be able to tell the sheep from the goat!
