Have you been part of the working class for some time and are on the verge of retirement? How’s that going for you?

As you worked over the years there ought to, at one point or another, have been several pressing questions that would’ve crossed your mind. But before we get into these questions, let me ask you a few of my own: why did you start working?

Is it because your family needed help so you were forced to get a job? Is it because you need money for basic necessities? Perhaps you are financially stable, but you just like what you do? Whatever your answers are, they will determine the number of times the following pressing questions might’ve entered your mind.

So, back to the questions. Have you ever asked yourself:

  1. What are my goals (long term and short term) in life?
  2. How do I intend to achieve these goals?
  3. Where do I see myself in the future?

If your answer is yes, then you’re on the right track!

The answer now to all these questions lies in your finances. If we are to go by what a famous “good book” says, then we’d understand that money truly answers all things.

Whether you’re financially stable or not, whether you’re working multiple jobs or are receiving one big cheque from a stable job, money can go as fast as it comes in.

Even the richest man or woman can turn into pauper overtime. How, you may ask? Simple: lack of or poor financial or income management. If we do not manage our finances then our future and that of our family could well be in jeopardy.

Now, I know that we are not all financially savvy and so we’ll need outside help in getting our finances where they should be, thus securing our retirement plans and future goals. One way of doing this is having a trusted financial advisor.

This could be a friend who is knowledgeable in the area or a professional. In my opinion, a professional financial advisor would be best.

Three of the areas that you can receive advice on if you have a professional financial advisor at your service include:

  1. Annual allowance
  2. Making extra pension contributions
  3. Using other savings and investments

Having these areas addressed will set you well on your way to a retirement plan that is favorable to you and your dependents. Overall, a professional financial advisor will help you to focus on being purpose-driven as opposed to being money-driven. With a customized plan that is crafted to suit your needs, a financial advisor can bring you fulfillment for today and stability for tomorrow.

So, whether you’re a long way off from retirement, are on the verge of doing so, or have already retired, it’s not too late for you. Get started on those goals now and hire a financial advisor to help you achieve them!

Trust me, you could be well on your way to Bali or Greece reaping the benefits of excellent financial and income management!
