It’s a fact that delivering a variety of healthy and delicious meals on the regular is not easy for parents and busy professionals. It’s the dream of many a caregiver and family-oriented individual to be able to please the palates of her kids and partner.

Some have the talent to do it, and some need all the help they can get. This post is for those of you who experience that struggle.

Three main things happen in a family when neither of the adults has a knack for cooking:

  • Food wastage — We all know what happens when food is not as tasty as it looks or, worse yet, when it doesn’t even look appetizing. It’s either barely touched or not eaten at all. So all the money you would’ve spent on essentials goes to waste in the food that is trashed by the family.

  • Lots of takeouts — Another money-waster solution to the problem of not being able to cook a satisfying meal is takeout. Let’s face it, if it’s not your partner or kids ordering takeout almost every night for dinner, it’s you giving in to suggestions of pizza. Do the math and see how much is spent on takeout and delivery per week.
  • And if it’s not the traditional form of takeout, it’s the “let’s see what grandma has to offer” type of takeout. I recently heard of a mother cooking for her kids and about half an hour later, there was a knock on the door. It was a delivery man bringing food sent by her mother at the kid’s request. Talk about embarrassing!
  • Professional help is hired — This is one of the solutions that you’d opt for if you can afford it. Hiring a professional cook/chef can be quite expensive, not to mention you may not be able to bond with your family in the culinary arena as you might wish.

There are many YouTube videos and recipes that can be Googled, of course. But these don’t always do you justice as the recipes may be hard to follow. There is a solution to this that could change the game for you and your family. The answer lies in guided cooking classes.

Now, I know you may be wondering how this can take place during a pandemic and lockdown when social distancing is the order of the day. Not to worry. The classes I’m referring to are 100% virtual and can be done at your own pace.

It’s like hiring a chef, not to cook for you and your family, but to teach you his/her skills. So they will work for you temporarily and in the end, you will emerge a culinary champion in your household.

Once you decide to get guided cooking classes, you’ll get your money’s worth in:

  • Teachings from the most popular chefs around. These classes are super easy on your pockets, trust me!
  • Grocery lists for different cooking styles that suit you and your family’s diets.
  • Curated weekly recipes with recipe walkthrough videos, making for deceptively easy and delicious dinners that will have your family asking for seconds.
  • Less food wasted and more money saved.

There’s much more to be had from hiring a virtual cooking tutor, but I will spare you the details and encourage you to find out for yourself. Go for it and I wish you and yours Bon Appetit!
